Olde English Kitchen

This spacious kitchen is located in Fullerton, California. I designed all of the cabinetry using direct input from the homeowners. The cabinetry material is eastern white maple with a patina faux finish. Shown is the china hutch located in one of the many corners in this room.

Hutch Base

This base has custom shop made turnings to match the posts in the rest of the kitchen. All doors and drawers are mitered highly detailed frame and raised panel pieces with an inset application. The countertops for this unit and the large island are eight quarter Teak from Burma.

Sentry Posts

This three drawer stack is guarded by traditional "sentry
posts." Note how the granite countertop is extended out over the posts. All doors and drawers are flush with the face of the cabinetry in an "inset" application using Blum european snap on hinges and Accuride full-extension demountable drawer slides.

Counters End

Note how the posts and finished ends add to the appeal of this kitchen.

Island Detail

All four corners of the island have sentry posts. The breakfast bar area seats two and has a pair of Enkeboll carved corbles, one at each end. The doors between the corbles are actually functional and open to storage shelves. The two openings on the right end under the drawer are for wicker slide out fruit baskets. There are two more baskets for vegetables around the corner.

Cook Station

This Viking multi-functional restaurant style cooktop has full width rollouts for pots and pans behind the doors.

Range Hood Hiding

This custom built range hood system was designed using standard viking components all hidden behind the open faced cabinet wall with the carved corble mantle. A second mantle with 3 carved corbles is located above the window seat window in the dinette area.

Carved Corbles

These carved corbles are the Acanthus scroll design by Enkeboll Millwork, Carson, California. (7 used in project). The custom patina faux finish was done by finish expert Mircea Lupu of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Walk-In Pantry

The backwall past the island has some interesting features. The center has three door sets stained a warm brown tone to match the Teak island top after age has developed the natural color (a process called "patina"). The middle door is the entry to the spacious walk-in pantry. The door set on the left is the Sub-Zero freezer and on the right is the Sub-Zero frig. Both fully integrated. The beige millwork on either side and above is a flase wall to hide a cooks desk on the left and a baking station on the right.

Window Seat

There are 4 large drawers on demountable full-extension slides under the window seat. The angled end on the counter has a roll-out waste storage container.

Mantle

Above the window seat is another mantle that matches the one over the cooks station. Grooving was provided on the top surface to lock in the edge of plates displayed in a verticle position.

Clipped Corner

Wherever possible we clipped the corners in the major traffic areas. Although this results in loss of storage it allows much more freedom to move about in the kitchen.
